Adult (and Young Adult) Sunday School
At 9:50am each Sunday, two different adult/young adult education options are offered at RLC. All ages post-confirmation are welcome. Currently, the two studies are:
- Creation Science, a DVD seminar study by Dr. Kent Hovind, is being led by Jakob Ernst. Since founding Creation Science Evangelism in 1989 in Pensacola, Florida, Dr. Hovind has been considered by many to be one of the foremost authorities on science and the Bible. He travels internationally giving seminars on creation evidence which supports the Biblical account of a literal six-day creation. Speaking over 700 times a year, Dr. Hovind has been a guest lecturer for public and private schools, universities, churches, camps, and TV and radio programs, and will be coming again to Anchorage in 2007. In addition, he has addressed thousands in debates with professors and scientists at many universities across America. The study cover a large variety of topics such as: How old is the Earth? What was the garden of Eden like? What caused Noah's flood? What about carbon dating? What is truly being taught in schools? Does the Bible mention dinosaurs? This class meets upstairs in the church library all fall. Donuts will be served. No class on Christmas Eve.
- The Wired Word led by Rhonda Hubbard, is a Bible study "ripped from the headlines," putting current events into a Biblical context. The Wired Word's editorial team creates a topical bible study out of a current event news story published during the week. Whether you are tuned in or out of current media, this class brings Biblical discussion into secular or other religious related events. Through the use of scriptural readings and context relating to the topic, the class discussion helps participants clarify their Christian perspective of faith and brings evidence of God and the church into our everyday lives. This class meets upstairs
in the church office throughout the fall. No class on Christmas Eve. To sign up to received a copy of the weekly study via email, contact
